Hop Scotch is child's play. Paving play areas isn't. The "A Team" sweats the details so you, and your kids, don't have to.

There's more to asphalt paving than meets the eye. When the "A Team" repaired some tarmac at Bellingham Int'l Airport, we first removed several old layers and then lined the trench with barrier cloth.

After barrier cloth, several grades of gravel were laid in and each layer was then meticulously compacted to the exacting specifications of airport engineers and paving inspectors.

Under the glare of an artificial sun, the final layer of hot mix asphalt is laid down. Following rolling, compaction testing and proper cooling, the tarmac will be ready to safely handle planes and their passengers.

Winter in the rain forest can turn a gravel driveway into a mudhole. Great for slugs. Not so great for you. We can't get rid of your slugs, but we can get rid of your driveway's ruts, potholes and muddy mess.

Look close. This is porous asphalt. By using evenly sized gravel and asphalt binder, tiny spaces are created between the rocks. Water passes through and into the gravel layer below, filtering the water before it enters the water table.

Porous asphalt, like this commercial park at Hinote's Corner, eliminates the need for retention ponds and frees up space for additional buildings. Stormwater is properly managed and building codes are met.
